Activities at the Vejen Art Museum and surrounding areas

Tuesday 1st of December 2009 – 25th of April 2010
One-man-show with paintings and ceramics by Peter Carlsen. During December there will be a day-by-day unravelling of twenty-four separate pieces of art focussing on northern mythology.


  Sunday 14th of March 3 pm
Guided tour in the Peter Carlsen-exhibition, by head of the museum Teresa Nielsen. Open for all. No admission fee.

Tuesday 18th of March 7.30 pm
A travel to Jordan and Syria - A tale in words and pictures, presented by two members of the Vejen art Association, Henning Ranum and Jens Rahbek.
Price: 35 kr. for members, non-members 50 kr. 

 

Tuesday 20th of April 7.30 pm
Mogens Ballins workshop. With a special focus on the preparations for an exhibition about the workshop Christina Rauh will tell about a central figure in the Danish art-life around the 1900s. Price: 35 kr. for members, non-members 50 kr.


  Sunday 25th of April
Final call to see the Peter Carlsen exhibition at the Vejen Art Museum.

Monday 17th of May to Tuesday 17th of June
Exhibition at the Vejen Library with works by Anne Østergaard. The paintings can be seen at the Vejen Library in their opening hour.

Saturday 5th of June, full day excursion
We will visit the Rudolph Tegner Museum in northern Seeland, and the J. F. Willumsen Museum in Frederiksund.

Saturday 19th of June - Sunday 14th of November
The Vejen Art Museum plays host to a large exhibition about Mogens Ballin’s pewter and silver smithy - explaining about the artists that were responsible for the designs for the productions. The main characters behind the smithy are Mogens Ballin and Siegfried Wagner along with others such as Gudmund Hentze, Ludvig Find and Johan Rohde. Great names in the Danish silverware industry started at this workshop, including Just Andersen and Georg Jensen.

Saturday 11th of September, full day excursion
This time we will be visiting the new art museum Heart just outside Herning in Jutland.
The evening excursion will be presented in more details in the August-issue of ”K.O.T”, the museum magazine.

Wednesday 22nd of September 7.30 pm
Concert by Klezmer Duo, a duo playing traditional Jewish music.

 


Where nothing else is noted the projects take place at the Vejen Art Museum. Some of the lectures are arranged in cooperation with Folkeuniversitet and the library in Vejen. 

At times it may be necessary to alter the program due to unforeseen occurencies.
